Rather than try to heat up the big barn this winter, we’ve packed up the gallery, which is much smaller and consequently easier to heat, and turned it into a workshop space for my rustic furniture. So I’ve begun.
First up has been a multi-legged table (seven legs).
It’s going to be a bear to level the table, but it’s almost there.
The legs are from a yellow wood tree (Cladestris) that had to be cut down a few years ago. The top is a slab of hemlock. I think I’ll finish it with a clear water-based polyurethane for the legs to keep them the bright and I’ll put boiled linseed oil on the top to harden it and darken it a bit.
