I took my large rug based on a Mary Oliver poem to the Green Mountain Rug Hooking Guild show at the Shelbourne Muesem in Vermont that ran November 9 – 17. This is not a juried show; any guild member can enter up to three rugs. But everyone who comes to the show gets a ballot and can vote for their favorite rug. And guess what! Mine got one of the ten viewers choice awards this year. (That makes four all told.) Yay.
(That’s my mother in motion next to the rug.)
The people who put together the show, which was in the round barn at the museum, did a great job all around, and I must say they gave my rug a nice spot, with good lighting. So folks could see it, which probably helped with voting, but still, yay.
