We started a new project this week, something we have been contemplating for quite a few months now. First there was the destruction; that is, we had to tear apart what was in place so we could rebuild it. This involved figuring out how to move a hot tub out of the way.
Then Adam was able to start working on rebuilding stone retaining walls. No he didn’t move those huge rocks by himself: Doug Gammon with his excavator was involved in that part of the process.
Doug also helped us transport and plant six large birch.
The destruction part of the birch bed is that we first had to remove the large overgrown pines they replace. The constructive part is clear.
A lot of work remains on this project, but we made an excellent start this week.
