Crabapples, apples and beech
Posted on by Julie WortmanLast year we had a challenging project at this Rockport property: to give the owner of this church-converted-into-a-residence an outdoor room with some privacy from the street. I’d hoped that the apple espaliers and the crabapples would all give a spectacular show in the spring. But you never know.
I guess we know now.
I am thrilled that the beech hedge we planted is starting to fill in and look somewhat like a hedge. All of the little trees took!
What we tried to do was provide a terrace area with layers of shelter from the street.
It’s starting to work! Well, the fog helps as well.
And a view of the terrace from above.
Pretty cool project. We have a few more tweaks to work on this spring.
