A walk at Mosquito Head

Posted on by Anne Cox

mos head pathWe haven’t been for a walk around the headland for a while, so it was wonderful to get out there with the dogs on Sunday afternoon. It’s a familiar, yet always changing place, and the trees and paths are as interesting as the rocks and water and views to distant islands. This was the first time I noticed so many dead blue-grey branches framing the path, creating a tunnel. And there are always trees with burls in this part of the woods.

mos head leavesI love this walk in the autumn when what leaves there are — for most of the trees are spruce — pepper the ground. Soon the grass will go all tawny and dry, which has its own beauty.

It was a nice day for a ramble.
